My roommate got EpiPens. She and her doctor think that her allergy problems are getting to the point where she might need them, which is a really scary thought.  She called a "roommate meeting" and showed us how to use them, then we decided on a convenient place to keep it so we'll all know exactly where it is if we ever need to use one. I am so not looking forward to stabbing her in the leg, but if it helps keep her alive... I'm a good roomie, I can do it!

The one thing that I can say about EpiPens is, after hearing my sister's experience with them, I will never use one the wrong way. Ever. Ouch. (She had to use one on her roomie, but she had it backwards and ended up stabbing her own thumb. She screamed because ow, unexpected pain. That frightened her roommate enough to cause her body to release adrenaline and open up her throat, so it all worked out in the end. But OW)

It also gives me a good way to relate my pain scale to medical professionals.

But yeah, be careful with them. Ow. Needle end toward her!

Believe me, after hearing your story, I don't think I'll make the same mistake. Love to your thumb!
