3 weeks in 2 minutes

Sorry for the recent MIA... again. I had three three-day weekends in a row, which was amazing because I got to actually do things. Quite a bit has happened in the last few weeks, so you get it all in list form:
(This flower was hiding upside down in the side yard.)
Dan and I played Settlers of Catan with Kelly and Geena -- I don't remember who won, but we had fun together. We all seemed to be ganging up on Kelly though, so I cut her some slack and picked on Geena and Dan instead.
The next day I had to leave, and I was sad. Kelly and Geena had to physically carry me out the door and dump me by my car.
I randomly had another three day weekend the very next week (April 30 to May 2), so I made the 5 hour trek back home by myself because I still missed my family. Dan stayed here because he had to work on Friday.
I bummed around on Friday, cleaned the backyard, and played with Teddy until people got home.
On Saturday (the day my dad decided it would be oh-so-mature to scream in my face for making an innocent suggestion) Geena, Matthew, Mom and I went ice skating in Cupertino. Kelly and Dad were invited too, but Kelly had to stay home to take care of a very sick foster kitten, and Dad was still being pissy. Those of us that went had fun skating and chatting. I was surprised that nobody fell. We had to leave a bit early because Mom and Dad were going to an Eagles concert in San Francisco. Dad still wasn't talking to me when they left.
That evening I made a ton of tasty cookies -- one batch white chocolate chip macadamia cookies, and one butterscotch chip and chocolate chunk cookies, yumm! -- while Kelly and Geena hung out. I bribed Matthew with cookie dough and cookies to do his homework. I'm not sure how well that actually worked.
Sunday saw me, Mom and Dad (who was gradually getting less pissy) at a farmer's market in Campbell (I think) and an art fair at a local community college in Saratoga. We randomly bumped into Kelly, Geena, and their friend at the art fair when we were nearly ready to leave. Geena kept drive-by punching me. Kelly said it was a sign of affection (I love you too, Gee).
Overall, I had a few good weekends. I'm glad I got to go home and see my family, especially Kelly, Geena, and Mom. I definitely don't get to see them enough since I live 400+ miles away. Hopefully things keep on keepin' on like this!
I went home to NorCal April 23-25 because I was homesick. On Friday Geena and I went out to a downtown pub and talked more than we ever have before over drinks. Dan went too, but he was pretty quiet.
I saw my extended family on Saturday and actually had a good time chatting with them.

(For you, Geena!)
Later on, Mom and I took Sunny and Shadow down to get their shots and microchip Sunny after I announced that I was stealing her. (This is actually Sunny after I got her home the next evening, but whatever.)

We had a really tasty dinner of pork tenderloin and leeks that we got from the farmer's market earlier that day. My older half-sister Cindy dropped by with her two daughters and had dinner with us. I hadn't seen them in over a year, so that was pretty cool.
We found out that Teddy had learned that wading in the pool was fun! We heard a bunch of splashing outside while we were eating. This is what we saw when we looked out the window:

The next day was Monday, and I had to go back to SoCal for work that evening. I got a speeding ticket going south on the 5 for going 90 in a 70 zone. D= The cop was really nice though, and gave me a 10 mph break on the ticket, so it looks like I was only going 80. That should save me on the fine. I HAVE NO MONIES FOR A TICKET D= (I think he gave me the break because a) I've never gotten any kind of traffic ticket before and b) I started slowing down and moving over as soon as I saw him go into "got you!" mode)
Dan and I had a three day camping trip to Joshua Tree National Park May 7-9. We hiked somewhere between 20-25 miles in two days, saw two oasis, a sunset over the mountains, an old dam, Native petroglyphs, and a bit of wildlife. It was beautiful in a starved-for-water way. (I'll make a full picture post of this trip later. It deserves one!)
