Jewel cuddles with me in bed pretty much all night usually until whenever I get up in the morning. At that point, she moves to the floor and wait for the sun to shine through the window, normally around 10am. She knows when the sun is supposed to be there, because she doesn't sit in that spot until 10 ish. Smart kitty.

Today started out the same. Cuddle, wake up, curl up on the rug for some sun action. The only problem is, we have two storm fronts moving in this week, starting today. She tried to get some sun, but it started out weak and then just died altogether, so she came out to see me. I took pity on her and turned on the heat lamp in the bathroom to see if I could give her some artificial sunlight, but it really was not that warm. She left. So, I dug out the heating pad instead. I put the pad approximately where she likes to curl up in the sun and turned it on medium-low, then I left the room. A few minutes later, a looked in to see her curled up on it. She is so cute.

Dan found a "self-warming blanket" last time we went to PetSmart. Basically, the cat curls up on it and the blanket traps the cat's body heat. I'm going to look into getting one for Jewel for Christmas.

Dude, you and I spoil the shit out of our cats. Ava and Hawk have a stocking all ready for Christmas, with this big tin full of catnip for Hawkeye and a ton of toys for Ava.

That's so cute. I love spoiling animals. I got a stocking with a bunch of little rawhide candy cane chews for Teddy already. I just thought it was too cute.

The blanket was twenty bucks =( I'll have to wait to get it until I have monies. Dan wants to find some mylar and make it with his brand new *sewing machine.* I might find something else for Julie in the meantime.

After Geena gets a job, we're planning on getting another kitty, an orange tabby this time, and we'll spoil the hell out of him, too. But I'm glad we got the catnip--Hawk found some on one of the scratching posts and started playing with Ava, and she's been in such a good mood since. She just needed a little high to get her going.

Aww, yay! I like it when kitties get along. I really want another kitty, too. I was supposed to get Sunny from Mom and Dad, but we don't have money for the stupid, stupid $500 pet deposit =( But! I'm trying to volunteer at the local shelter as either a "dog walker" or "cat socializer" or both. I might even be a kitty foster parent, we'll see!

We've got these big bay windows on the front of the house, and whereas we haven't got cats, the dog is very happy to go lay in the sunshine. She follows it around the room throughout the day too - usually by mid-afternoon she's migrated to the stairs lol.

I've always wanted bay windows! I think they're just gorgeous if done right. *sigh* Someday... lol.

Jewel actually made it into the living room with her sunbeam today! It was pretty impressive.
