i think that's rather rude what your roommates are doing. it happens to me sometimes within my own group of friends but not often, and it bugs me every time. if you don't want to invite a certain person, just wait until that other person is out of earshot. it's not that hard. at least then, maybe some hard feelings could be avoided.

i don't think you're a hard person to live with. THEY'RE the people who are hard to live with. i get the feeling that you're being a little too passive with them, though. what they're doing is ridiculous.
